Programs and Events

Hope Huddles

Hope Huddles are offered monthly and provide a simple yet meaningful way for survivors to connect over a meal. We welcomed a few new survivors to the table this month. We are so grateful to be able to provide these connections in our region.

B the Light offers mini-retreats to connect survivors with resources for healing of the mind, body, and soul. These experiences offer support and create a safe place for these beautiful survivors to feel honored and lifted up.

Cooking Beyond Cancer: A Flavorful Lifestyle

During this month's Cooking Beyond Cancer class, one of our survivors expressed heartfelt gratitude for the program, sharing how it has changed her family's eating habits. By incorporating easy, clean-eating meals into their dinner routine, they have embraced a healthier lifestyle together. Stories like these are exactly why we are committed to providing tools and resources that empower survivors to carry these positive changes forward into their futures.

This month’s menu was Cowboy Chicken, Meatball Soup, and Turkey Veggie Bake. Look at all those veggies!

Cooking Beyond Cancer classes empower breast cancer patients and survivors by focusing on the importance of nourishing the body with whole foods. CBC makes the culinary experience easy and enjoyable.

We are thrilled to have had 37 Survivors participate in our programs in July. Creating these connections is exactly what we are here for!

Our total programming costs for July 2024 are $4,341.30.

Other Exciting News

August was brimming with opportunities for community engagement! Our survivors enjoyed the lively Blingo Bingo event at the Mayo Event Center in Mankato, where our very own Crystal Dubbelde took the stage as a bingo caller. Additionally, Jen and Laura represented B the Light at the Greater Mankato Growth Nonprofit Volunteer Day at Bethany Lutheran College, where they connected with community members and shared information about our organization and volunteer opportunities. Jen and Jeanette highlighted B the Light's mission at the open house hosted by The Wellness Collective in New Ulm, inviting attendees to explore our shared office space and learn more about the work we do.

Thank you!

A cancer diagnosis can be financially devastating for families, B the Light covers 100% of the cost for each of our survivors to participate in our programs. Community support is critical to the livelihood of our organization. Every dollar counts...thank you! Thank you for shining your light!

Save the Date

October 25th - Illuminate HOPE Gala:

Our annual Illuminate Hope Gala, which will be held on October 25th at the Royal Oak Event Center in New Ulm, is our flagship fundraiser, drawing hundreds of attendees and garnering support from businesses and individuals alike. With each successful event, we are reminded of our work’s impact and the importance of our mission. As the prevalence of breast cancer continues to rise, so too does the demand for our services. We served 183 survivors in 2023 and as of today, we have passed that number of survivors served for 2024.

We are more committed than ever to continue expanding our reach to neighboring communities, ensuring that no survivor faces their journey alone.
Let’s make a difference together.

Find tickets, become a sponsor, or donate a silent auction item on our website under
