Hope Handbags are thoughtfully curated gift bags presented to local breast cancer survivors during the holiday season. This initiative began during the pandemic, allowing us to maintain meaningful connections and support even when in-person gatherings were impossible.
Each Hope Handbag typically contains:
A $250 grocery and gas gift card
$100 toward personal wellness
$150 in credits to local co-ops
A beauty product gift set
Special items from B the Light
These gifts encourage self-care, help reduce financial stress, and keep our support within the community, benefiting local businesses. Every Hope Handbag is made possible through generous donations to B the Light, ensuring that each dollar goes directly toward supporting our survivors.
Breast cancer survivors living within a 60-mile radius of Mankato or New Ulm, who have not yet received a Hope Handbag, are eligible for this special gift. Please note that nominations do not guarantee a handbag. If you know a survivor who would benefit, kindly complete the nomination form below.
Nominations close on December 1st, and deliveries are typically made the week before Christmas, though some may arrive after the holiday.
