Mom, dad, teacher, care provider, fix-it person… What is your role these days? Do you feel like you have been given a promotion in, “figuring it out”? The -- new normal has certainly taken some adjustment. We see news that seems defeating, while also seeing silver linings of success, hope and stewardship.
With our mission of being a source of light and HOPE for others, we thought this was an incredible time to empower each other and especially our youth to reach out to others, be a local hero on a small level for someone and help to spread HOPE in this time.
In search of resources, we came upon the website and hashtag #dogoodfromhome. This site is jam-packed with easy ways to not only brighten someone else’s’ day but make you feel good in the meantime.
Some more unique ideas include:
Teach a virtual class about something you love.
Each day for one week, write a great google review for a local small business
Plant a beautiful butterfly pollinator garden to help improve the earth
Offer to rake leaves or clean out landscaping for an elderly neighbor
Make a freezer-friendly recipe for a neighboring family and gift them with supper
These are just a few of the ways we can all take time to do good for others. What a wonderfully simple, yet meaningful way to spread light and hope.
